Learning Workshop. These days we are witnessing the world changing in ways we couldn't have imagined just a few years ago. These major shifts, these conflicts and breaking of taboos are frightening and paralyzing. In the Learning Workshop (as elsewhere at Agathu), we take action. Approximately 25 teachers instruct around 30 students in fixed small groups. Our students usually request German lessons, but other subjects are also possible: homework help, math, French, whatever it may be. We always meet on Wednesday evenings, initially as a large group, drinking tea together, sharing news and playing a short game, and then everyone goes to their learning groups and practices together what they need to learn. And yes, this really helps against the fear: Another world is possible, one in which people are there for their neighbors, in which exchange across cultures can take place, in which different religions and traditions are not obstacles but enrichments. Together we are working towards this better world. To enable women with children to learn with us, childcare is offered when needed.
