About Us
I-Need is the first Swiss app that helps refugees, asylum seekers and those in need to access local support, such as language courses, medical care, food distribution, legal advice, sports and cultural activities, and much more. The app is a low-threshold tool to promote social integration.
The app's simple interface provides a quick overview of the most important aid organizations and social services. Most of the services offered by trusted aid organizations, churches, and volunteers are free of charge. Integration services are available for an extended period, professionally designed, and easily accessible by public transport. Professionals from churches, the refugee and migration sector, as well as business and administration, help to continuously expand the integration services.
I-Need is a non-profit project founded in 2015, independent of party politics and open to people of all denominations. The project is run by the Diakonie Forum, an association of diaconal organizations and communities. The app is funded by cantonal churches, parishes, the Swiss Diaconal Association, donations, and a great deal of volunteer work.
In the anniversary year 2025, I-Need is supported by the Reformed Church Zurich, Catholic City Zurich, and the Evangelical Reformed Church of St. Gallen.
