Refugee Day on 20 June 2026

On 20 June 2026, Refugee Day takes place on the Kirchplatz in Winterthur. The focus is on bringing together people with and without lived experience of displacement. As part of the 'Beim Namen nennen' initiative, we remember those who have died while fleeing: visitors read out their names and place them at the memorial. A varied supporting programme of music, dance and conversation, an art installation set among the trees, and many opportunities to connect make the theme of displacement tangible for everyone who attends.

Benevol, the regional partner of I-Need in Winterthur/ZH, is helping to shape the programme.
